Dromon Bureau of Shipping participates in the Safety4Sea Forum

Dromon Bureau of Shipping is pleased to announce its participation in the 5th SAFETY4SEA LIMASSOL FORUM, which is being held on the 31st of January at the Columbia Plaza, Limassol.

This non-profit event attracts around 100 Organisations including representatives from the Safety, Technical, and Marine Departments of Shipping Operators, alongside various industry stakeholders.

Our esteemed General Manager, Mr. Ioannis Liakakos, shall participate as a speaker and a panellist, sharing his wealth of knowledge and expertise.

Mr. Liakakos has extensive experience in all technical aspects of shipping, having held various technical and managerial roles in Shipping Companies, and has served as a Senior Surveyor for Class NK. Since 2022, he has held the position of General Manager at DBS.

During his talk, Ioannis will delve into the implications and compliance requirements for ship owners/operators of various key amendments to SOLAS and MARPOL that have recently entered into force or are due to enter into force shortly. These include:

  • Towing and Mooring Arrangements/Equipment;
  • Water level detectors on multiple-hold cargo ships;
  • Radiocommunications;
  • The IMSBC Code;
  • The IGF Code;
  • The IMDG Code;
  • The IP Code, (new Chapter XV to SOLAS);
  • The ESP Code;
  • Mediterranean Sea ECA;
  • Bunker Delivery Notes;
  • Guidelines on EPL/SHaPoLi.

Additionally, Mr. Liakakos will participate in a panel discussion on the topic “Navigating the Waves: Safety Insights in Maritime.”
