C23010 | 14 February 2023

Notice to: Ship Owners/ Managers/ Operators / Surveyors/ Auditors

Barbados Maritime Ship Registry issued Bulletin 168, Engine Log Book Supplement for MARPOL Annex VI. Bulletin 168

MARPOL Annex VI is coming onto force 1st July 2010 which requires the record keeping of the consumption and venting of ozone depleting substances (hydrochlorofluorocarbon refrigerant and air conditioning gas), Regulation 12.3.2.6.

Due to the increasing number of such records being required by MARPOL and the limited amount of space available in Engine Log Books it is recommended that all such records be incorporated into a separate booklet: the Engine Log Book Supplement.

Attached is a template for such a ‘supplement’ which may be downloaded and printed for use or be used as a check against the operator’s own documentation meeting the MARPOL record keeping requirements.

168: MARPOL Annex VI- Eng. Log book Supplement

Act now

Ship Owners/ Managers/ Operators should take into consideration all the above and ensure compliance of Barbadian vessels and Surveyors/ Auditors should confirm the said compliance during surveys / audits as appropriate.
