Revised Technical Publication: Ballast Water Management Convention

Following Circulars C16010 and C16022, Dromon has revised the publication concerning the implementation of the Ballast Water Management (BWM) Convention.

The publication has been revised after the latest updates received by IMO which confirms that the Convention will enter into force on 8th of September 2017.
BWM methods have also been updated as per IMO Resolution A.1088(28) which states that a schedule has been implemented for the installation of BWM treatment technology. More detailed information regarding the ballast water treatment technologies have been included in Annexes 1, 2 and 3.

Act Now
Ship Owners / Managers / Operators are reminded to commence the procedure for compliance with the BWM Convention as soon as possible. Having a ship inspected and certified before the date into force will avoid possible delays due to the large number of ships that must be inspected and certified.
