Panama adopts amendments to MARPOL Annex II

This circular is issued to advise that the Panamanian General Directorate of Merchant Shipping has issued Resolution No 107-OMI-263-DGMM.

This resolution adopts amendments established in Resolution MEPC.344(78), which relate to Annex II, Appendix 1 (guidelines for the categorization of noxious liquid substances) of the MARPOL Convention, and are due to enter into force on 01 November2023.

The amendments replace the three tables titled “Abbreviated legend to the revised GESAMP Hazard Evaluation Procedure” with four revised tables.

Act now

Ship Owners, Managers, Operators, and Masters should consider the revised categorizations and be guided accordingly.
